The Edward Betham C of E Primary School

The School Day

It is very important that the children are in school ready for the bell at 8:45am. This is when school starts and the registers are taken.

Children who arrive after this time must report to the school office (Junior department) and the welfare room (Infant department).

School gates open at 8:35am each morning. Children go straight into class to complete morning activities.

Important messages for the class teacher or another member of staff are sent by email or telephone, or by notes given to the class teacher once pupils arrive in class.

In the Nursery, parents/carers are asked to be very aware of the safety of all the children as they are brought into the Nursery and collected at the end of sessions. It is important that the Nursery staff are not distracted at this time so they can concentrate on making sure the children are safely handed over.

Pupils in Years 5 and 6 are not permitted to collect younger siblings.

Parents/carers must notify the school of any changes to end of day collection arrangements by 2:30pm.

Parents/carers wishing to speak to the class teacher are requested to do so at the end of the school day and after all the children have been dismissed. Parents/carers who require a longer appointment with the class teacher or a member of the Senior Leadership Team are asked to make an appointment at the School Office.
